The Bluegrass Bands & Helping Hands organization will host a CD release party at the historic Dalton Freight Depot on Saturday July 24th in Downtown Dalton Georgia. Banjo picker Willie Cullen Galyean passed away Tuesday, July 13 at the Golden Living Center. He was 71. He played many instruments but loved the banjo. He was known in the bluegrass music community as a member of the Foot Hills Boys. Cullen was recently highlighted on Mountain Roads Recordings on their recording Born Into Bluegrass, The Songs of Cullen Galyean. ...

North Georgia based bluegrass band Spatial Effects will be performing at the Harris Arts Center in Calhoun, GA on Friday July 23th. Spatial Effects identifies itself primarily with traditional bluegrass music, but their performances often incorporate elements from many other styles of music.
