With the release of Keller Williams' first-ever all-covers collection only 2 weeks behind us, Thief is already making its mark on industry charts and rave reviews are pouring in. Thief debuted this week at #28 on Billboard's Heatseeker Albums chart, and #1 on Billboard's Bluegrass Albums chart. Meanwhile, Thief's much buzzed-about videos are getting love at sites like Hype Machine and YouTube (the Keller Williams channel was just recently launched), and press reviews are hailing the album. ...
Blue Ridge Music Hall of Fame 2010 Inductees Announced
The 2010 Inductees into the Blue Ridge Music Hall of Fame have been announced. The Hall of Fame is housed in the Wilkes Heritage Museum in Wilkesboro, NC, also home to the famed Merlefest. An induction ceremony and dinner will take place this Saturday, June 12th at the John A. Walker Center in Wilkesboro, NC. Terry and Cindy Baucom are both presenters. Mike Cross is the Master of Ceremonies. The Snyder Family Band will entertain during dinner. Randy Kohrs Donates Proceeds from Download to Nashville Flood Relief
When Randy Kohrs, one of Nashville's most multi-faceted artists, selected the song "Cumberland" for his latest CD, Quicksand, released on Rural Rhythm records, little did he know what an impact that song would potentially make. The devastating May floods left much of the Nashville area in ruins, with much of the destruction caused by overflow from the Cumberland river, which winds through the heart of the city. Retroactive from May through the month of July, all proceeds from the downloading of Kohrs' recording of "Cumberland" will be donated to the Nashville flood relief through the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. ...
