More Sad News...
Dear Friends,
I just received more sad news from John Deckard of the passing of another bluegrass friend. Wayne Swift (Vista) also passed away on July 4th, joining his wife Edna, who passed away about a year or so ago. I don't have any funeral information yet.
Wayne & Edna were a staple in the San Diego County bluegrass scene since way back in the 70's when Bluegrass Etc used to play every Saturday night at That Pizza Place in Carlsbad. To many in North County in those days, they were known as "Mom & Pop Bluegrass".

Jim (AKA Okie) Adams
Jim Adams passed away on July 4th.
Jim attended many of the festivals, and also came on occasion to the North County Summer Campout in Idyllwild. He was also known as Okie Adams, however that title really belonged to his father, a banjo maker, who also died just a short while ago. You could find Jim always friendly, often times together with his wife Robin; both wearing bib overalls or other identical attire, and always with a "Tanjo" - a banjo adorned with small tambourines that he would sell to you for about $100 or so.
